Shenyang Olympic Sports Center was an important venue for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, serving as a branch sports field that would host soccer games as well as other athletic competitions. Inevitably, due to its grand architectural scale and its stature as an Olympics venue, it was intended to be an important landmark both in the City of Shenyang and Hunnan Region, and wouldl contribute to the economic development, scientific and technological progress and the social life of the City of Shenyang. Shenyang Olympic Sports Center is situated in the Hunnan New District near the south bank of Hun River on a three-part site of 54.59 ha. in area. After its construction is completed, the Shenyang Olympic Sports Center would become an integral part of the “one axis”, “one belt”, and “five areas” concept of the Hunnan New District.
